The HTML language allows us to establish different headers according to their importance. Specifically, in a web page we can create from H1 to H6 , the first being the most important and H6 the least important.
Although we are used to only having one H1 per page, there are common cases where there can be many of them . Consider, for example, the cover of a blog or a product category page in an online store. In these two cases, each of the titles of the posts and the names of the products would be inside an H1 tag.
How important are the H1s?
We can talk about its importance at two levels: importance for users and for search engines.
- Users . Headers improve the user experience. They make reading the content easier and indicate quickly and clearly where the user is and the content that is going to be found.
- Seekers . At the SEO level, it helps us to position a page for the desired keyword. It is recommended to use the keyword within the H1 to improve the positioning of the page for that term.
In summary, the tags for the headers (with H1 being the one that has the most weight) are very important to have an adequate information structure and a good user experience , since they define the content hierarchy, something that will improve SEO considerably. In addition, the H1 is usually in the highest part of the content and, if it includes the keyword, Google will give it more importance.
